Ames Taping

Ames taping is fire and smoke protection, and also an alternative to plastering which is being increasingly used in new house building contracts since originating in the late 1930s.

The work can be done by automatic drywall taping tools or by hand, dependent on the size of the job. The tape and joint cement is only applied to the plasterboard joints and screw holes rather than the whole area, resulting in a smaller percentage of materials being used than traditional plastering. The finished product leaves the walls and ceilings seamless, smooth and ready to decorate.

Coving and Cornice

What's the difference between Ceiling Coving and Cornice?

The term's cornice, coving and architrave are frequently used incorrectly, or used as if they are interchangeable.

A cornice is a profiled molding used to conceal the joint between a wall and a ceiling so that it does not have to be finished and any cracking along the joint is hidden.

A cornice can be plain or highly decorative - plain cornice may be referred to as ‘coving’.

Factors to consider are ease of application, cost, and versatility to your space.  Whichever you choose your walls will benefit from the addition of properly applied wallpaper.

Airless Spraying

Airless Spraying is a painting technique which simplifies the process of painting. This is achieved by using an airless sprayer that pumps the paint under very high pressure, around 3000 psi, via a specialized hose into a small hole in the nozzle of the sprayer. Spraying produces an even coat of paint on all types of surfaces leaving a consistent & high quality finish. This technique can be used with both residential & commercial contracts.
